How many churches practice discipline among members that are "openly" sinning? How do you handle these types of issues as leaders in God's churches? Many pastors I have talked with have said they have tried to take a biblical approach to sin in the body but found themselves looking for another ministry. The very thought of this in some churches makes one have a ready stack of resumes handy. Is it better to keep our mouths closed and save our jobs or risk leaving over right and wrong?

Hey Uth Guy,
Look through the diferent posts (I forget which one) there was a discussion on this subject about a month or so ago.
The subject is a scary one because the evil one is fighting back through the courts and causing people to shy away from discipline. Its the same with disciplining children, the evil one wants folks to be afraid to correct.
As far as I know one legal stand point is if the person to be discipline is a member, and the constitution says there may be discipline as a result of some activity, you may discipline. On the other hand if the person is an attender, even if the person has attended for 20 plus years, you may not discipline. The rules looks at 'expectation'.
Anyway, look for the other discussion and if you have question I'm sure the guys and gals will chip in. God Bless, Ron
